HOUSTON, (Feb. 27, 2013) – Jetstream of Houston, LLP, a leading manufacturer of industrial high-pressure waterblasting equipment, parts and accessories, has introduced a mobile parts and service center van in the Midwest region of the United States to assist industrial cleaning contractors during major shutdown work. As the first on-site StoneAge® tool repair center, the Jetstream van is also equipped to provide timely repair solutions for StoneAge® waterblasting tools.
"Our new mobile parts and service center van provides fast, affordable solutions to help our professional cleaning customers in the Midwest better manage their waterblasting jobs and keep downtime to a minimum," said Mike Taylor, Midwest regional district sales manager at Jetstream. Built on a heavy-duty, compact frame, this rugged and versatile system features the UNx® fluid system designed for fast conversion between 550 bar (8,000 psi) and 2750 bar (40,000 psi) operating pressures. Additional features include an external gear drive, comprehensive shutdown systems, a high-performance 93kW Tier 3 engine, high-capacity fuel tank and sealed control panel.

External gear drive
Unlike competitive units that feature internal gear drives, the IX100 Series is designed with an external drive with helical gears for a quieter, more efficient power transfer compared to a belt drive, and easier maintenance compared to an internal gear drive.
Shutdown systems
To protect the IX100 Series system against low oil pressure, high temperature and other damage, shutdown systems include low-supply water pressure, dirty water filter, engine fault, manual emergency stop and manual override.
Compact size, heavy-duty frame
One of the most compact waterblasting systems in its size class, the IX100 Series is easier to transport in-country. "The IX100 Series is easier to fit on trucks and trailers, and can be mounted inside enclosures," Scruggs said. "The compact, mobile design allows the system to fit more economically into shipping containers, making it much easier and more efficient to ship from our Houston facility."
To protect against corrosion in harsh industrial environments and conditions, the heavy-duty compact frame of the IX100 Series is hot-dip galvanized. The frame also features a sturdy, eight-inch (203 mm) channel.
For added safety, all moving parts on the IX100 Series system are fully guarded. Dual rupture disc assemblies prevent extreme over-pressurization during operation.

A follow-up to the "Fundamentals of Waterblast Theory, Skills and Safety," this course provides an overview of the horsepower formula and how it is used to solve for pressure, flow and horsepower; the components of tip design; factors effecting tip performance and the unique issues in pipe cleaning, tube cleaning, shot gun cleaning and automatic tool cleaning. The skills covered in this course can also be used to analyze job productions to determine what equipment is required to perform at maximum efficiency.
"Estimating the Vacuum Job"
A follow-up to "Vacuum/Air Moving Fundamentals, Skills and Safety," this course focuses on the basic mathematic and geometric principles in determining volume, square feet and linear feet of objects to be vacuumed. Vacuum estimation stresses cycle times, realistic truck capacities and the above mathematics to enable the student to successfully estimate production times on vacuum jobs. The skills covered in this course can also be used to analyze job production to determine if the job is being performed at maximum efficiency.
"Fundamentals of Hydroexcavating Safety and Skills"
This two-module course covers the unique challenges associated with hydroexcavation, including benefits, safety hazards, proper operations, identifying and preserving underground utilities and maximizing productivity with a hydroexcavator.
The structure and content of the online courses provide a flexible training environment for adult learners. The courses include tests that each student must pass with a grade of at least 80 percent before advancing to the next training module.
